Hi friends! My name is Jason Blyskal, the artist behind Night Owl Creations. I am originally from Miami, FL and relocated to North Carolina in 2015 to pursue art and to be closer to friends and family.

I work with several different mediums in tandem but am currently focused on exploring stained glass. With it I like to create things like suncatchers, night lights, and mirrors, and occasionally larger installations incorporating lighting and sculptural elements.

Much of my inspiration is drawn from the cartoons and video games of my youth, as well as movements like Art Deco and Cubism. In my practice, I aim to blend both traditional and contemporary applications while keeping playfulness and accessibility at the forefront of whatever I am creating.

My studio is currently based at Golden Belt Arts in Durham, where I'm constantly tinkering on fun projects and making a mess of things. When I’m not at my studio, you can find me working at the North Carolina museum of Art, educating art lovers about our states wonderful collection and art opportunities.

Next time you’re in the area, stop by and say hey!
